Chrysalis

Each night I dissolve,
particles in evolution,
leaving behind broken schemes,
shadows in revolution.

Wings that cannot hold the wind,
cocoons that still confine,
in this timeless dance I spin,
a self I cannot define.

In a chrysalis form,
in a world that transform,
between light and shade,
unsure and afraid,
but warm.

Fragments fall and scatter wide,
a mirror cracked and torn,
the face I see, it hides inside,
waiting to be reborn.

Metamorphosis calls, a voice in the deep,
shifting in silence, through chaos I sleep.
Pieces of me lie scattered like dust,
in change I must rise, in change I must trust.

Shadows curling at edges.
Nothing feeling the same.

Any weight slipping, any touch fading.
Flesh dissolving
in bare air.

Dust clinging to old scars.
Notes pulsing against cold.
Ash lingering on lips.
Names dissolving in smoke.

Fingers are tracing lost lines.
Nothing holding me in this life.
Soft winding pulling closer.
I am becoming something else.

Ecdysis.
